About this plugin

The plugin guides an academic literature search from an initial research question through framework selection, sub-area planning and targeted searches. It uses free, keyless PubMed and OpenAlex APIs by default, with optional Consensus MCP searches when connected. A depth setting controls the search budget, and checkpoints let you confirm the plan before the main searches run.

It produces a researcher-friendly DOCX launching pad rather than a finished systematic review, with topic orientation, starting points, sub-area guides, research groups, open questions, bibliography and an audit log. It requires the Node.js docx library to create the Word document, but the default search lane does not need an account or API key.
