Terms of Service
The terms for using the Open Skills directory
What Open Skills is
Open Skills is a directory of agent skills: folders of instructions and scripts that AI coding agents can load. We list skills published by other people, describe what each one does, and link to its source. We do not host the skills and we are not their authors, except where a listing says so.
Open Skills is not affiliated with the openskills command-line project, with Anthropic, or with the makers of any agent named on the site.
Using the directory
Browsing is free and needs no account. You may link to any page. You may use the public JSON list for your own tools, within reason: do not load it so often that it affects the service.
Skills are third-party software
A skill can tell an agent to run commands on your machine and may include scripts. Before you install one:
- read its SKILL.md and any scripts it ships with
- check the licence in its repository
- install it only if you trust the source
Summaries on this site describe what a skill says it does. They are not a security review, and a listing is not an endorsement or a warranty. Star counts and other details come from GitHub and may be out of date. You install and run skills at your own risk.
Accounts
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password private. You must give a working email address. We may suspend an account that is used to abuse the service.
Submissions
When you submit a skill, you confirm you have the right to suggest it and that what you tell us about it is true. We decide what is listed and may edit, decline or remove a listing at any time. If you are a skill's author and want its listing changed or removed, email us.
Open Skills Pro
Pro is not open yet. Joining the waitlist is free and creates no obligation on either side. Terms for paid plans will be added here before anything is sold.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service, scrape it in a way that degrades it, or submit content that is unlawful or that you know to be malicious.
Our content
The summaries, guides and other text we write are ours. You may quote them with a link back. The skills themselves belong to their authors under their own licences.
No warranty and limits of liability
The service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of the site or of any skill listed on it.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
