What Open Skills collects, why, and how to have it removed
Summary
Open Skills is a directory of agent skills. You can browse it without an account. We collect the minimum needed to run accounts, the Pro waitlist and the site itself, and we do not sell personal data.
What we collect
- Account details. If you create an account: your name, email address and a hashed password, or the name, email and profile picture Google shares when you sign in with Google.
- Things you save or send. Skills you save, the collections you put them in, skills you submit for review, and messages you send through the contact form.
- Waitlist email. If you join the Open Skills Pro waitlist: your email address and the page you signed up from.
- Clicks on outbound links. When someone follows a link to a skill's source repository or to one of our other products, we count the click against that skill. The count is not tied to your account.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, for security and troubleshooting.
We do not collect payment details. Nothing on the site is for sale yet.
How we use it
- To run your account and show you what you saved or submitted
- To tell you when Open Skills Pro opens, if you joined the waitlist
- To reply when you contact us
- To see which listings are useful, using the click counts
- To keep the site secure and working
Who processes it
- Cloudflare hosts the site and its database and delivers email.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
If we add an analytics or email provider, it will be listed here before it is switched on.
Cookies and local storage
See the Cookie Policy. In short: one cookie keeps you signed in, and your browser remembers your theme and language choice.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Waitlist emails are kept until Pro opens or you ask us to remove yours. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider.
Your choices
You can delete your account from the security settings page, which removes your saved skills and submissions. To be removed from the waitlist, or to ask for a copy of your data or a correction, email us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date.
