About this skill
What it does. Provides CLI and Python workflows for querying more than 20 bioinformatics resources, including gene records, sequences, alignments, protein structures, expression, disease, viral and mouse data. Results can be returned as JSON, CSV, DataFrames or files, with guidance for setup, reproducibility and database limitations.
When to use it. For interactive exploration and simple multi-database queries with network access. For batch processing, advanced BLAST or larger Python workflows, use Biopython or bioservices instead.
