Best Codex Skills in 2026

Eight skills whose own documentation covers Codex, and what each one is for.

Edited by hand at Open Skills

How we picked

We have not yet tested these skills first-hand in Codex, and this list does not claim otherwise. Each one was chosen on things we can check: how widely it is used and searched for, whether its repository is still being maintained, and what it does according to its own SKILL.md and documentation.

Codex skills build on the same open Agent Skills standard as Claude skills, so most published skills can be installed in either. To keep this list specific, every entry is a skill whose own README names Codex in its installation or compatibility notes.

The order runs from general to specialised and is not a verdict on quality. First-hand notes are added to each entry as we review it, and an entry that has one shows it under the summary.
