About this skill
What it does. Guides authentication and authorisation for Google Cloud by first identifying the actor, runtime and target, then selecting ADC, service accounts, impersonation, workload identity federation, OIDC or API keys. It covers IAM roles, least-privilege access, attached identities and short-lived credentials, with examples for local development and Cloud Run.
When to use it. Use it when configuring access to Google Cloud APIs or custom applications from local, Google Cloud or external environments. It distinguishes human access, service-to-service access and end-user application authentication, and discourages static service account keys.
