About this skill

What it does. Guides an audit of project files, then centralises shared settings in Directory.Build.props, late-bound logic and targets in Directory.Build.targets, package versions in Directory.Packages.props, and build arguments in Directory.Build.rsp. It also covers chained multi-level files, artifact output layouts and validation with dotnet restore, dotnet build and preprocessed project output.

When to use it. For multi-project .NET repositories that need shared MSBuild settings or NuGet Central Package Management. It does not apply to non-MSBuild systems, legacy-to-SDK migrations or single-project solutions without shared settings.
