About this skill
What it does. Gathers functional, non-functional and constraint requirements, then selects architectural patterns and designs component interactions. It produces a requirements summary, Mermaid architecture diagram, ADRs, technology recommendations, trade-offs, risks and mitigations, while considering failure modes, security and operational complexity.
When to use it. For new system designs, architecture reviews, scalability planning, infrastructure choices and architectural decision records. It is not intended for code-level design patterns or database-only design tasks.
