About this plugin

The plugin guides a structured intake covering the research idea, career stage, preliminary data, research environment, submission posture and target institutes. It uses Consensus for a five-facet positioning analysis, then uses NIH RePORTER to map institutes, study sections and funded overlap, and checks relevant NOSIs and open funding announcements.

It recommends mechanisms such as R01, R21 and K awards based on career stage and project scope, with draft Significance and Innovation language, submission timelines and a programme officer recommendation. The scope is NIH-only; other funders are identified as out of scope during intake. It requires the Consensus MCP server, bash with curl, web_fetch and the Node.js docx library to produce an editable Word document.
