About this plugin
Desktop Commander gives Claude Code access to a local MCP server for terminal sessions, persistent processes, filesystem tasks, search, structured documents and SSH workflows. It can work with text, code, PDF, DOCX, Excel, images and structured data.
Reach for it when Claude Code needs to inspect or manage a local computer, run long-lived shell processes, perform read-only health checks, configure AI tools, or organise Markdown knowledge bases and Obsidian vaults. The MCP server is installed with npx -y @wonderwhy-er/desktop-commander@latest.
