Best Claude Code Skills in 2026
Eleven skills for people who use Claude Code to build software, covering planning, browser testing, design, video and research.
Edited by hand at Open Skills
How we picked
We have not yet tested these skills first-hand, and this list does not claim otherwise. Each one was chosen on things we can check: how widely it is used and searched for, whether its repository is still being maintained, and what it does according to its own SKILL.md and documentation.
The list leans toward software work, because that is what Claude Code is used for. The order runs from general to specialised and is not a verdict on quality. First-hand notes are added to each entry as we review it, and an entry that has one shows it under the summary.
For skills that suit Claude outside the terminal as well, see the best Claude skills. For bundles that include subagents and hooks, see the best Claude Code plugins.
